Learn More About Your Golf Tees
That Come In All Shapes, Colors And Sizes!
Golf tees are an essential part of your golf game having
many sizes, colors and shapes to choose from. Today, the trend has shifted away from the shorter golf tee to the longer one … simply because drivers have changed and most golfers now prefer to tee their golf ball at a higher level.
Plastic tees are proving to be more popular … slowly replacing wooden golf tees … simply because plastic ones are more durable and have a longer reusable life than their natural versions.
There are also biodegradable ones that, if left in the ground, slowly break down and rejoin the earth.
Other innovations feature prongs on the surface. These are also known as brush tees which are meant to carry the ball and reduce the amount of area that is in contact with the golf ball. According to the brush tee’s designers, this helps reduce resistance at impact when the club strikes the ball. Whether they work better or not is for you to decide, but remember that any extra performance you can get in your golf game is worth a try.
Ever considered pink golf tees? Maybe not, but there are golf tees available today in every color of the rainbow! Consider purchasing them in your favorite color. From orange to multi-colored, you can make a statement even in this small way.
Perhaps you would like to celebrate Independence Day by giving red, white and blue ones to your golfing buddies. There are so many options to choose from!
Maybe you want to advertise your business or products. Personalized golf tees with logos are a great choice since golfers are bound to see and remember your logo each time they tee up!
Personalized tees make a very affordable advertising item. Golfers always need more tees, so handing them out at a company promotional event, an advertising booth or to new golfing clients is very much appreciated.
Or consider choosing some personalized golf tees for yourself or someone else. The options are endless!
Now For Some Tips On The Tee-Box
The tee height is important. As a general rule of thumb, when using your driver, your golf ball should be teed up so that the top of your club-head is just above the centre of the ball. This effectively means that if swung reasonably correctly, your club-head cannot pass right under your ball and ‘sky’ it.
Learn to tee your golf ball a consistent height and you are more likely to strike it the same every time.
In teeing your golf ball, don’t try to push the golf tee into the ground and then perch your ball on top of it. Hold the ball on top of your golf tee and use this to push the tee down into the ground. Not only is it easier to get the ball to balance, but it’s easier to judge the height correctly and it gives anyone watching the impression that you know what you’re doing!
When you stand on the tee-box, look at the shot you are about to play. Take particular trouble with choosing the right spot on the tee, not only ensuring that it is level, but look at the type of shot it gives.
A good tip is to identify where all your ‘trouble’ lies, then start on that side and turn away from it. For example, if all the trouble is down the left of the fairway, then tee up well over on the left, meaning that you can be aimed away from this in driving for the center of the fairway.
